Products

KTS has designed, developed, and produced an array of products based on the needs of our customers.
These products range from rapid prototype proof of concept units to full-fledged production systems.

A sample of our products is provided below:

Data Collection and Instrumentation
Systems

Design and developed flight qualified, ruggedized high bandwidth, high data rate
data collection systems with multiple time-stamped interfaces including serial,
MIL-STD-1553, HotLink, and ARINC-818.

Digital Interoperability Systems
and Software

Designed, developed, produced, and deployed digital interoperability systems providing
increased situational awareness capabilities. These systems range from manpack
systems to aircraft approved installations meeting the operational need.

KTS specializes in the delivery of both standard and custom digital interoperability kit configurations tailored to the unique needs of each customer and has delivered kits to multiple organizations across the military and industry. • The Marine Air Ground Tablet (MAGTAB) goes beyond the basic commercially available tablet by adding an array of apps and security measures devised by the Warfighter to enable in-depth mission planning, increased mission effectiveness, and improved debriefing tools. In addition to basic features, functions, that you find on a typical phone or tablet, the MAGTABs feature real time digital execution checklists, digital mission timelines, RFID tracking, and network status in increase situational awareness.
  • Commercial Encrypted Wireless Links (CEWLs) mate to the AN/PRC-117G tactical radio providing reliable, secure WiFi connection for MAGTABs, creating large scale networked capabilities for real-time situational awareness and enhanced communication on the battlefield. Powered entirely by the radio and requiring minimal configuration, CEWLs are a man-portable, on the move secure communication solution.
  • Miniature Encrypted Wireless Links (MEWLs) create reliable, networked capabilities for MAGTABs utilizing secure WiFi, and are equipped to mate with a wide array of radios such the AN/PRC-152A and leading ISR handhelds capability of fitting in a small pouch. MEWLs require minimal configuration and provide the option to be powered entirely off the radio or by a USB battery pack for portable, on the move, real-time situational awareness and enhanced communications on the battlefield.
  • Meshed Network Managers (MNM) and Mini-MNMs are designed for integration on airborne platforms and serves as mission integrators between on-board platforms, several radio suites, and MAGTABs. The MNM's Processor performs message translation, database synchronization, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) of marines and cargo, threat management, data encryption, radio hosting and configuration, network routing, and secure WiFi.

Gimbaled / Motion Test Fixtures

Developed gimbaled test fixtures of different complexity for multiple customers
providing software based control and simulating aircraft motion.

Custom Product Development

Developing custom products for the commercial and defense areas based on specific
customer requests to help solve their problem. KTS has it’s own rapid prototyping
facility complete with a full complement of machine equipment and 3D printers to
support proof of concept or low quantity machining.

SUPPORT SERVICES

KTS continues to provide leading IRCM, aircraft survivability, and digital interoperability consulting expertise.
These services range from complex architecture development through a product life cycle and culminating
with data analysis.

Architecture Development

The KTS team is led by several subject matter experts with detailed operational and mission experience. The team has a solid understanding of the Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and uses this knowledge to effectively architect solutions with customers and Warfighters in mind. The team’s experience spans across all types of systems ranging from avionics systems on aircraft, to autonomous systems installed on unmanned aerial vehicles, to networking equipment, and down to the smallest component on a ground user. This depth of CONOPS understanding coupled with the detailed product knowledge enables KTS team members to develop scalable, tactical, and operationally relevant architectures.

Systems Engineering

The Systems Engineering team consists of individuals with varying backgrounds that collectively cover the systems engineering mission. The team is on the fore front and collaborates with customers and industry partners to solve complex problems. The team tailors systems engineering and product development processes to provide affordable, innovative, and applicable solutions.

Software Development

The agile KTS software development team consists of skilled individuals that execute software development based on customer needs whether their are defined requirements or not. The team works rapidly to develop and integrate capabilities in complex systems in a laboratory or On a day to day basis, the team works in many languages (C, C++, Python, Java), operating systems (VxWorks, Linux, Android, Windows), and tools (JIRA, Git, Stash, Android Developer Tools, Database Management, Eclipse, Visual Studio C++).

Rapid Prototyping

KTS has a fully staffed Rapid Prototyping Facility complete with CNCs, drill presses, welding machines, air compressors, hardware tools, and a heavily used state of the art 3D Printer. KTS designs and builds anything from brackets, chassis, plates, mounts, fixtures, and cable sets. The Rapid Prototyping team also supports industry and government when customers need anything built, manufactured, or assembled quickly.

Integration and Test Support for existing systems

KTS has a rich history and solid future in support of integration and test. In addition to testing KTS’ own data collection, interoperability, and other KTS developed systems, KTS also heavily supports industry and government customers. KTS offers an affordable, experienced, integration and test work force to support planning, preparation, installation, and test execution. The team supports testing of any kind whether it is in KTS' integration labs, environmental labs, live fire test ranges, or flight test areas. The team also supports design and integration on KTS’ own flight test bed, KTS1.

Modeling and Simulation

The team’s leading work in aircraft survivability and networking drive solutions that require complex system design, some of which are extremely challenging to test. The team leverages and develops modeling and simulation capabilities to obtain representative system performance while reducing the amount of test time required

Data Analysis and Reporting

KTS is consistently requested to support customers to evaluate their own product with KTS providing fresh, innovative ideas. Additionally, KTS also supports data analysis and reporting of industry products to industry or government customers.
